Image retouching

Image retouching is a valuable tool for advertising. It is well used in photos, image compositions and 2D as well as 3D models of products. These are often cut from a masked image of the product and incorporated into a real or 3D environment using digital retouching software such as Adobe Photoshop. Many, if not all of the elements in an environment, can be added in post-production using digital retouching tools. This can increase efficiency as it negates the need for renting expensive locations, studios, photographers, equipment, or models. Stock images can instead be purchased and retouched as desired.

When a product needs to be relaunched with minor changes, retouching offers flexibility and savings in time and money. Compared to a full reshoot, even complex image retouching is a more favorable and practical solution to producing the digital asset.
